Craig Stockwell

Low Residency MFA Director, Artist

Artist Residencies: Embedding an artist in a rural community

Craig Stockwell is a New England-based artist, educator, and curator. He received his BFA from RISD and MFA from Vt. College of Fine Arts. He has exhibited nationally including the Nielsen Gallery and Genovese Sullivan in Boston, MOMA PS1, The Fitchburg Museum, The Painting Center in NY. His work is in many permanent private and public collections including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. In 2013-14 he was awarded a Residency Fellowship at the Sharpe-Walentas Space Program in Brooklyn and in 2015 a Residency at Virginia Center for Creative Arts. In 2016 he was in the Biennial exhibition at the DeCordova Museum and was published in New American Paintings 2016. He has written about art for The Brooklyn Rail and Art New England. He has taught at Keene State College, Marlboro College, Vermont College of Fine Arts (MFA). He was the Director for the MFA in Visual Arts at NH Institute of Arts and currently teaches for the Lesley University MFA.
